Painting. Why is it so expensive?

Painting. Why is it so expensive?

Many people think that wall preparation for wallpaper and for painting is the same thing.

And then they're surprised why after painting all the stripes, holes and waves on the walls are visible. 😐

For wallpaper, small imperfections are acceptable:

✔ marks

✔ minor unevenness

✔ scratches

✔ non-ideal surface

Wallpaper hides a lot, especially dense or textured wallpaper.

But wall preparation for painting is a completely different level of work.

There the surface must be almost perfect:

✔ visually level surface

✔ absence of scratches, bumps and pores

✔ quality sanding

✔ proper lighting during wall preparation

Painting doesn't hide flaws — it shows them.

Very often there are "masters" who prepare walls "for wallpaper" but tell customers that this is preparation for painting.

As a result, after applying paint, the following appear:

❌ stripes

❌ shadows

❌ holes

❌ orange peel texture

❌ waves on the walls

And then it begins:

— "It's bad paint"

— "It's just the light"

— "Everyone has it"

No. The preparation was simply done for the wrong type of finish.

Good painting doesn't start with an expensive can of paint, but with proper wall preparation.
